"jardin de la femme" Series
In 2018, I spent a fair amount of time in Geneva, Switzerland. While there, I reconnected with an old friend from my youth. We spent time and spoke of our past joys and pains, things we both struggle to control, and all we were looking forward to in the future. When we originally shot this series, I had painted her in my friends apartment. With light leaving us soon, we covered her in a large scarf and hopped on some buses to the Parc des Eaux-vives. Upon arrival we realized the park to be decently crowded with youth and old, and found ourselves in a guerrilla photoshoot.
It wasn’t until I returned to Atlanta when I began to embellish these prints and discover the narrative of this series. Reminiscing with a close friend that understood all you’ve been through. Seeing how the past, present, and future self all interact with one another, thus creating who you are.
